Colin Matthews is a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology candidate at Yorkville University, completing his clinical practicum under the supervision of Lori Gill, RP, Founder and Clinical Director. He also holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science (Kinesiology/Physical Education) from Dalhousie University. Colin brings over two decades of experience in education, community building, yoga instruction, and mind–body healing. His professional journey includes work as a Kindergarten teacher and as the founder and director of a community of yoga studios in the Greater Toronto Area.
Colin has extensive experience in mindfulness, somatic awareness, and embodiment practices, supported by a rich background in intuitive development. He integrates humanistic approaches, including Nonviolent Communication and Compassionate Inquiry, into his work, drawing on each client’s innate wisdom and capacity for healing.
He is passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan through attuned, client-centred care that honours the connection between mind, body, and lived experience. Colin brings a grounded, respectful presence to the therapeutic space and is committed to learning, collaboration, and serving the community with humility and compassion.
