Pregnancy & Infant Loss

Compassionate Care for an Unimaginable Loss

At Lori Gill Psychotherapy ~ Holistic Wellness for Health, we recognize that the loss of a pregnancy or infant is a uniquely profound and deeply personal grief. This kind of loss is often unspoken, misunderstood, or minimized by others, leaving parents and families feeling isolated in their pain. The dreams, hopes, and plans you held for your child and your family can be changed in an instant, and the world may not always recognize the significance of your loss.

We want you to know that your grief is real and valid. There is no “right” way to feel or to mourn. You cannot simply “replace” this loss, nor should you be expected to move on quickly or quietly. Each experience is different—whether your loss occurred early or late in pregnancy, during birth, or after your baby was born.

Our team is here to walk alongside you with empathy, expertise, and gentle guidance. We offer a safe, nonjudgmental space to honor your experience, your emotions, and the memory of your baby. Our goal is to help you process your grief in a way that feels supportive and healing, at your own pace and in your own way.

You do not have to navigate this journey alone. We are here to support you, to listen, and to help you find moments of comfort and hope as you move forward.

What Makes This Grief Unique?

  • Loss of the future: Hopes, dreams, and plans are changed in an instant.
  • Unacknowledged pain: This grief is often invisible to others, especially after early loss.
  • Complex emotions: Sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, anxiety, and even relief can all be present.
  • Facing questions: Later pregnancy losses can bring difficult conversations and questions from others.
  • Secondary losses: Sometimes there is a loss of fertility, identity, or sense of self.

Our Approach

  • Specialized Support: All therapists are trained in trauma and loss, including advanced training with Anne-Marie Lockmyer, award-winning grief and trauma specialist.
  • Safe, Nonjudgmental Space: Your grief is valid, no matter how early or late the loss, and no matter what you are feeling.
  • Holistic Healing: We help you gently process your experience at your own pace—emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
  • Support for All: We welcome individuals, couples, and families, including those facing recurrent loss or fertility challenges.
